Beliefs and Practices

What We Believe

  • In one God: the Holy Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit – three persons, undivided and of the same divine essence.
  • Blessed Virgin Mary, known in Greek as Theotokos – she who bore and raised God the Son in the flesh.
  • Incarnation  Jesus (God, the Son; the Son of God) lived, died and risen in the flesh as man; True God and true man.
  • The One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, body and Bride of Christ (whom is the head of the Church); the single Church of God’s work, universal and complete, to preach the Gospel to the world and Baptise the nations.
  • The Mystery of Holy Communion is just that – an unexplainable divine mystery. Though the bread and wine are believed to genuinely be the body and blood of Christ.
  • Apostolic Succession is canonical and non-canonical; the Holy Spirit may imbue and guide one to the Holy Mystery of Ordination and ministry.
  • Communion of Saints; when Christians depart this life and ascend to Heaven, they remain part of the Church, the Body of Christ, whom we join in Communion with in the Eucharist (Heb 12:22-23, Rev 4:10, John 14:2).
